Main Street Corridor Project update: Eastbound detour resumes this week

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, the contractor will continue work at the intersection of Route 135 and Route 85, with the eastbound detour remaining in place.

The detour will send eastbound traffic from Main Street to Pleasant Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street and back to Main Street. Walcott Street will be open to two-way traffic during the detour and will revert to one-way traffic when Main Street is reopened.

Other work being performed this week includes Comcast duct work from Muffin House working eastbound to Ash Street as well as service connections project-wide. On the west side of the project — working eastbound from the Wood Street intersection toward the Fire Station — the contractor will install new granite curbs, fine grade and compact sidewalks, and start pouring the concrete sidewalks.

Estimated work hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
