Mosquito spraying program begins Aug. 3

by | Jul 29, 2021 | News

Sprayers from the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP) are tentatively scheduled to visit Hopkinton to respond to residents’ concerns about mosquitoes on the following dates: Aug. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31, and Sept. 1.

The dates are subject to change due to weather conditions, mosquito populations, mosquito virus activity and/or special event spraying. The program will shut down when cool nighttime temperatures become prominent.

A detailed notice about the spray schedule is posted on the CMMCP phone system (508-393-3055) after 3:30 p.m. each day and also is listed on the organization’s website at cmmcp.org (click on the 2021 Spray Schedules button on the right).

Requests for service can be called in between 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays or submitted through the website. Results of these requests may initiate an application of mosquito insecticides to defined, site-specific areas of town. Such an application may be accomplished by using truck-mounted equipment depending on the extent of the application.

Residents also can request to be excluded from any spraying. For more information, visit cmmcp.com and click on the No Spray Info button on the right.
