Theresa O’Donoghue

Theresa A. (Kasprzak) O’Donoghue, 75, passed away Sept. 2 in Beaumont at Whitney Place, Westborough, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Neil F. O’Donoghue. She also leaves her son, Daniel O’Donoghue of Easthampton, her daughter, Jennifer, wife of Daniel Kelly of Hopkinton, grandchildren Nolan, Jack and Katherine Kelly, uncle Frank Dreksler and wife Sherry of British Columbia, Canada, and nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, Texas and Louisiana.

Theresa was born in Worcester and lived most of her life in North Oxford, a daughter of Walter and Katherine (Dreksler) Kasprzak.

Mrs. O’Donoghue worked as a registered nurse, retiring from the Worcester Family Health Center. She graduated from the former St. Mary’s High School and Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1967. Theresa loved spending time with her husband, Neil, and their family, as well as watching her three grandchildren grow. Teri thoroughly enjoyed nature, feeding and watching the various birds and animals in her yard. She likely is embracing her parents right now as not nearly a day would pass without her mentioning them or her childhood. Theresa’s quiet and gentle way will be missed by all who knew her, and her beautiful smile will forever be in our hearts.

Calling hours will be Saturday, Sept. 11, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., Worcester. A prayer service will follow, live streamed on the funeral home website. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601 or alz.org, or the MSPCA at 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130 or mspca.org.
