Women’s Club, HCAM host Town Election candidate events this week

With Town Election set for May 16, the Hopkinton Women’s Club and HCAM are hosting events for residents to learn more about the candidates.

The Hopkinton Women’s Club will host the 34th annual Meet the Candidates Night on Wednesday (April 27) at 7 p.m. The event will be broadcast on HCAM from the cable station’s studio at 77 Main Street.

Residents are encouraged to attend and pose questions. The Women’s Club is asking all who attend to wear a face covering for the health and safety of all, especially those who are immunocompromised.

Home viewers also will have the opportunity to ask questions ahead of time or that evening by using live@hcam.tv for emails and 508-333-5858 for texts.

HCAM will host its annual contested races debate on Saturday (April 30) at 5 p.m.

HCAM News Director Tom Nappi will serve as moderator. The event will be be held at HCAM’s studios but will not have a live audience.

The contested races in the May 16 Town Election include Select Board, School Committee (three seats), Housing Authority and constable. The debates for constable and Housing Authority will start at 5 p.m., with the other debates commencing at 5:40.

Meanwhile, the 10th annual Know Your Vote forum, sponsored by eHop, will be held Monday night (April 25) from 7-9 p.m. from the HCAM studio at 77 Main Street.
