Youths identified in Legacy Farms door pranks

by | Nov 3, 2026 | Featured: News, News

According to interim Chief Scott van Raalten, Hopkinton Police have identified two youths allegedly responsible for a series of door knocking disturbances around the Legacy Farms South area in recent months.

Van Raalten informed the Independent via email Tuesday that media coverage and public assistance helped the HPD identify and make contact with one juvenile allegedly responsible for the incidents. Officers plan to speak to another juvenile soon, van Raalten added.

The HPD reached out to the public on social media last week, sharing pictures of the suspects and asking for assistance in identifying them. The interim chief told the Independent earlier this week that the disturbances around Legacy Farms South involved the individuals knocking on doors and may have been related to a viral “door kick challenge” made popular on TikTok.

The break in the case came from a concerned adult who saw the HPD’s Facebook post and knew one of the juveniles allegedly involved, van Raalten stated. He went on to note that the suspect was taken to the police station to admit what he had done and apologize to the resident, though the apology had not yet been facilitated.

When asked about whether the two youths involved are local, van Raalten stated that “they are local, but not Hopkinton kids.” He further explained that no motivation or targeted motive had been identified.

The interim chief stated that charges have not been filed, “but that does not mean there won’t be upon completion of the investigation.” He added that the names of the two suspects will not be released due to their age.
