The commonwealth has notified the Hopkinton Health Department that the Town will receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Hopkinton has been working with neighboring communities to conduct a regional vaccine clinic for our residents. Per the state’s schedule, Only Phase 1 and 75-plus-year-old residents are eligible for vaccines at this time. The Town of Hopkinton will begin offering public vaccination appointments beginning the week of Monday Feb. 8. Any eligible resident that had signed up for notification prior to Feb. 5 at 4 p.m. will receive an email with a link to book their appointment. If an email was not provided, you will be called tomorrow (Monday, Feb. 8) and offered assistance with registration for an appointment. Anyone who is interested in registering for the remaining and future vaccinations should sign up via the Local option Phase 2 notification form and you will be notified if additional appointments are available.

SECOND DOSES: Please note, the Pfizer vaccine requires two doses three weeks apart. Both doses must be administered at the same location. Therefore, you will be asked to set up your second vaccination appointment as you check out of your initial appointment. You do not have the ability to schedule both vaccinations when making your first appointment. If you received your first dose anywhere other than a Hopkinton Health Department clinic, you cannot receive your second dose through the Hopkinton Health Department. If you receive your first dose through the Hopkinton Health Department, you will receive your second dose through Hopkinton Health Department as well.

FUTURE CLINICS: The Hopkinton Health Department is planning on hosting clinics one or more days per week, depending on the availability of vaccines. Additional clinics will be scheduled as the town is notified that it will receive additional Pfizer doses. There is still considerable unpredictability around the continued delivery of vaccines from the state to local health departments and we ask that residents continue to search all available vaccination locations at mass.gov/covidvaccinemap. You can sign up for available appointments at maimmunizations.org. It is OK to be on multiple waiting lists, until you have a vaccine confirmation!

You may call the Hopkinton Senior Center weekdays at 508-497-9730 to be added to the notification list or receive assistance in scheduling vaccine appointments in either Hopkinton or at another site. If you do not have an email address, you can still sign up to be notified when vaccines are available by providing your phone number.

As a reminder, eligible recipients are currently those in Phase 1 or those 75-plus.
Learn more about the vaccine and how to prepare for your appointment and at mass.gov/vaccine.
