Students can be added to buses after DESE lifts capacity limits

by | Mar 9, 2021 | Education

An email Monday from Hopkinton Public Schools indicated that students can be added to buses following an update to guidelines from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

“Effective immediately, the capacity limitation and physical distance requirements for students on buses have been lifted for elementary and secondary schools,” the email reads. “There is an exception for students on buses at the secondary level in communities that have high community prevalence.”

Families interested in adding a child to a bus should email transportation@hopkinton.k12.ma.us. Families with students in Grades 7-12 must fill out an application and pay a $50 fee for a child to be added for the remainder of the year.
