Letter to the Editor: ‘Welcome to Hopkinton’ sign on mend

by | Dec 15, 2021 | Letter to Editor

As a member of the Hopkinton Garden Club, we would like to thank you for publishing [the Dec. 8 website] photo of the downed “Welcome to Hopkinton” sign. The Hopkinton Garden Club had this sign made about 20 years ago, with contributions from the Hopkinton Women’s Club and the Chamber of Commerce, and we have been talking about making repairs to it in the spring. We knew it was in rough shape but had no idea how bad! We would not have known about its demise if we hadn’t seen the photo. Our president, Ann Hogaboom, immediately contacted the DPW to see if they could house the sign until we can make the repairs.

Thank you so much for your morning newsletter!!! We hope to “Welcome” everyone back in the spring.

— Ruth Gorman, Hopkinton Garden Club
