Letter to the Editor: Civil for Governor’s Council

by | Oct 16, 2026 | Letter to Editor

Tamisha Civil, candidate for reelection to District 2 of the Governor’s Council, is in a competitive race. The Governor’s Council plays a vital role in checks and balances in vetting judges, approving governor appointees and overseeing pardons and commutations. A good governor’s councilor can make our government work better while advocating for change. That’s why I am so passionate about supporting Tamisha Civil for reelection on Nov. 3. Tamisha Civil has the experience and vision to be a phenomenal governor’s councilor, but what sets her apart is her unique background combating injustice. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Tamisha for reelection to the Governor’s Council for District 2!

I know Tamisha personally, and I am inspired by her story: the proud daughter of Haitian immigrants who came to the United States in search of better opportunities. A graduate of Dover-Sherborn Regional High School, Tamisha is the first in her family to graduate from college, earning a master’s degree from Northeastern University in criminal justice and leadership. She has put that degree to good use working alongside judges, defense attorneys and assistant district attorneys to make our system fairer.

Tamisha works tirelessly to create a better world for us all, campaigning on issues that matter. Issues include treating substance abuse as a mental health issue rather than a criminal issue, seriously addressing domestic violence and reducing inequalities in sentencing. As a governor’s councilor, Tamisha can ensure that these issues are properly considered by those she is tasked with vetting and overseeing.

Tamisha has the right passion, vision and qualifications to be an excellent governor’s councilor. To learn more about the campaign to reelect Tamisha Civil to the Governor’s Council District 2, visit tamishacivil.com.
