Letter to the Editor: Traffic a problem

by | Mar 11, 2020 | Letter to Editor

To the editor:

I’m a member of [Boy Scouts] Troop 1 Hopkinton, and I’m working on completing my Eagle Scout rank. As a newer driver, I would like to comment on the traffic situation in town.

My family and I live off of Hayden Rowe, so leaving the house and trying to turn onto Hayden Rowe during the morning or evening can be challenging. The traffic directors at the high school have helped this situation, and I think that the light at Chestnut Street will help when it is ready. Getting to school is a lot easier and less dangerous than it has been in years past.

However, one area in town that continues to be an issue is the Grove, Cedar, and Main Street intersection in the center of town. When myself and my friends are driving through this part of town, the traffic backs up and the lane designations and traffic flow can be very problematic. I hope that the downtown corridor project that was recently approved will be able to help this situation.

— Noah Schonhorn, Hopkinton
