New headquarters ‘ideal location’ for Solect

Solect Energy recently moved into its new headquarters at 87 Hayden Rowe Street.
Solect Energy finally has moved into its new headquarters on Hayden Rowe Street, marking the end of a multi-year journey to support the company’s growth.
“For a number of years, we’ve been looking for a different space to grow into,” explained Elaine Vescio, Solect’s senior marketing manager. She noted that the newly constructed building sits next to the company’s former building. Solect bought the property once it became available.
The solar development company, which was founded in Hopkinton in 2009, brought plans for the new construction to the town in 2023. The new building at 87 Hayden Rowe Street replaces an unoccupied apartment building. Plans shared with the Planning Board in 2023 showed the new facility would retain much of the former building’s character.
Vescio said Solect’s new headquarters is “absolutely beautiful.” She shared that the building’s design has an open floor plan that allows all the company’s teams to interact and work together on its solar development projects.
Solect employs 125 people, the majority of whom operate out of the Hopkinton headquarters, Vescio explained. The company’s construction and services facility also is based in Hopkinton.
“We really felt like Hopkinton was the ideal location to be able to service our market,” said Vescio. She added that the new space on Hayden Rowe Street will help the company face the expected growth in the solar energy industry in the coming years.
“We will be able to be better prepared to go after that market as it grows,” she said.
