Hopkinton Today: Thursday, Nov. 10

by | Nov 10, 2022 | Featured: Features,

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

Hopkinton High School athletic director Kiely Murray thought this was going to be a relatively quiet part of her schedule with the fall regular season having wrapped up and winter sports still a few weeks away. But the HHS fall sports lineup produced one of the best seasons in recent memory across the board, with league titles and huge turnarounds in a slate that saw the Hillers put nearly every team in the postseason.

This week’s Hillers Thrillers Athlete Spotlight shines on junior volleyball player Abby Hebert, who led her team into the postseason.

Leading off the Schools Notebook, the Hopkinton High School Drama Ensemble will perform the musical “Honk!” at the HHS auditorium Nov. 17-20.

This week’s Police Log includes one arrest along with reports of a man swearing and smashing things in a West Main Street store, a deer dying on a resident’s deck, and a bull grazing on East Main Street.

Town meetings tonight include the School Committee (7) and Community Preservation Committee (7).

Photo of the Day: This week’s winner of the Hopkinton Independent/Bill’s Pizza photo contest is Margaret Bower for this photo of Baby (a mini-horse) and Pony Boy (a long-haired dachshund), who are best friends at their Pond Street farm.
