Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
A storm that brought heavy wind and rain Monday afternoon and early evening caused some problems in town. The Police Department cautioned that there were multiple road closures, detours and power outages and encouraged residents to stay off the roads while work was being done to reopen them.
The town’s latest COVID-19 update shows 34 active cases in town, as the expected post-holiday spike appears to be underway.
The Water and Sewer Department advised residents why the most recent water bills have generally come in higher than usual and explained why residents might notice a new chlorine smell in their water.
Town committee meetings today include the Upper Charles Trail Committee (3:30), Board of Assessors (5) and Select Board (5:30).
