Letter to the Editor: HHS parade props

by | Jun 8, 2020 | Letter to Editor

On behalf of the families of the Hopkinton High School Class of 2020, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Hopkinton community for making the senior parade on May 30 an event we will never forget.

Thank you Mr. Bishop, Dr. Cavanaugh, Officer Phil Powers, Class of 2020 advisors and officers and the school administration team who made this parade happen. Thank you to the Hopkinton Independent, HCAM and HopNews for helping to publicize the event and share memories and to local businesses who hung a sign, put out balloons, etc. Thank you to our public safety workers for keeping us all safe. Thank you to junior parents Lee Burns, Kristin Dionne, Sarah Stedt and their volunteer teams for decorating the parade route, contacting businesses and distributing pompoms, and to the sweet family at 15 Ash Street who let us take over their lawn for the day.

Thank you to our amazing Hopkinton residents who made signs, decorated, cheered and showed up for our kids. Your support means more to us than you can imagine. And thank you to the Class of 2020 for setting a wonderful example for future Hillers on how to turn lemons into lemonade. We can’t wait to celebrate with our beloved community again at the Aug. 2 graduation.

— Beth D’Alleva and Marie Boyle, Hopkinton
