Letter to the Editor: Markey’s commitment well-established

by | Jun 13, 2020 | Letter to Editor

I am wholeheartedly endorsing Joe Markey for one of the two open School Committee positions in the upcoming Hopkinton Town Election.

I feel confident to speak of the high regard in which Joe is held in town, having been a friend of Joe’s and the Markey family for over 10 years.

Joe has invested considerable time and effort in multiple volunteer capacities in town. One of his most significant contributions being the chairperson of the Hopkinton Elementary School Building Committee from 2013-2020. This resulted in the completion of the Marathon School, on time and under budget while ensuring transparency and community engagement throughout this process.

Joe has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to improving the educational experience for our children and families in Hopkinton. I believe his analytical skills and foresight will ensure success as we manage maintaining high standards along with the challenges of continued community growth.

Please join me in voting for Joe Markey for Hopkinton School Committee on June 29th.

— Anne Burtenshaw, Hopkinton

I write following up my comments at the March 3 Select Board meeting, which I made with respect to the Select Board’s executive session on Jan. 30, 2018. That session was attended by, I believe, 13 individuals, including Peter Sismanis, his attorney, town counsel,...

Letter to the Editor: Scoop your dog’s poop
