Pawtriots partnership highlights Baypath, encourages adoption

Shelter dogs from Baypath Humane Society recently took a starring role on the New England Patriots’ social media pages.
Last week, the NFL team posted a “Pawtriots” 2026 schedule release on its Instagram and Facebook pages. The 90-second video features dogs sheltered at Baypath playing with toys related to each team on the Patriots’ schedule for this coming season. As of May 20, the video had garnered over 30,000 likes on Instagram.
“It was pretty cool,” said Maddy Berthold, Baypath’s marketing coordinator. She explained that the shelter recently became Pawtriots partners with the New England Patriots Foundation a few months ago. It was offered this opportunity after participating in an earlier adoption event with the organization.
“From there, [the shelter] was asked to basically collaborate with them to do a schedule release,” said Berthold. She added that the turnaround time from being asked to filming the dogs was quick.
Representatives from Pawtriots visited the shelter and filmed eight of the dogs — not all of whom made the final cut — in the span of a few hours, Berthold said. She noted that most of the dogs that did get featured were the younger puppies, as they were more interested in the toys.
Pawtriots is an initiative led by Dr. Dana Kraft, Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s wife. It teams up with New England-area animal shelters to promote pet adoptions. Berthold said the organization is fairly new and became aware of Baypath over the past year. After meeting with shelter staff and touring its current facilities, Pawtriots representatives offered Baypath the opportunity to become partners.
The schedule release will not be the last event Baypath will do in collaboration with the Patriots. Berthold said there are plans to take dogs to Gillette Stadium, along with other shelters, for a meet and greet event during the team’s training camp this summer.
